HOW CAN ONE LIVE AS A CHRISTIAN AFTER OBEYING THE GOSPEL?
Introduction: It is a good thing that one is a Christian by adhering to the word of God. Being baptised in the water of baptism simply means that one has deviate from the things of the world and accept Jesus Christ as Lord. There are other characteristics which a Christian must possess that will qualify him or her to become a true child of God.

These characteristics are:

1. HAVE A GREAT COMMITMENT TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH : A Christian who have been baptized in water of baptism must make every effort to grow spiritually. Paul wrote in 2 Tim 6:1-12) In verse 11,he said thou O man of God, flew away from all unrighteousness, and pursue righteousness, Faith, Godliness, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (2 Peter 1:1-10, Philippians 3:7-15,Colossians 3:16-17).

2. STUDY THE BIBLE: Paul wrote "study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed of the gospel, but rightly handle the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). By constant study of the word of God, one will be able to know the mysteries in God's word. He will be able to withstand or overcome every temptations. 2 Peter 2:1-2,Eph 6:10-15,James 1:21-25,Acts17:11,2 Peter 3:18).

3. ADD THE CHRISTIAN MORALS TO YOUR LIFE . As a Christian who have accepted the gospel, you will add Faith, moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, brotherly kindness, and love (2 Peter 1:5-7). The Bible said when all these abide in you always, you will neither be barren nor unfruitful

4. PRAY REGULARLY : Prayer is the best weapon of a Christian. Paul wrote in 1 Thess.5:17,he said pray without ceasing. Ceaseless prayers, equips a Christian to withstand the devil. Jesus Christ started His mission with prayer and He ended it with prayer.

5. ATTEND WORSHIP REGULARLY : A Christian must not be absent from worship. He must fellowship with the brethren. Hebrew 10:25 says "do not forsake the assembly of the saints. Absent from worshipping God is sin against God.

6. TELL OTHERS ABOUT JESUS :Jesus commanded His to go into the world and make every nation His disciples. Teaching them to observe all that He had commanded them Matthew 28:18-20,2:38, Mark 16:15-17).A Christian must learn how to tell people about Jesus because it is a command.

7. DO GOOD WORK: Jesus Christ said "I must do the work of Him that called me, when it is day:the night cometh when no man can work (John 9:4). Ecclesiastes 12:12-14 says here the conclusion of the whole matter, fear God and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man on earth. Ephesians 2:10 says "Those saved by Jesus are created to do good work.
As we all maintain the gift of God in us, I prayed that the good Lord will give us the grace to run this heavenly race effectively in Jesus name Amen. Remain blessed now and forever in Jesus name Amen. Good afternoon and have a wonderful and prosperous day in Jesus name Amen.
